Double oven, Wall oven, Combo oven or Built-in oven, What to do?

Double oven combo and wall oven repairDouble oven, Wall oven or Combo oven are very expensive appliances, depending on the brand, the cost for new appliance can go from $1000 and up to $6000. We have a few customers with Thermador double oven that begging us to help them to repair their ovens and they were ready to pay decent money for repair to avoid costly replacements. Both units would cost about $4000 each for replacement, we fixed their boards and on one of them we replaced a touchpad as well for about $1200 each. It is great, if you have money to buy a new double oven but even then, you can bump to the issue that a new double oven may not fit in your kitchen cabinets or would be a different color than the cabinets. Then, beside a new wall oven, you will have to replace the cabinets or adjust them, that would be tremendously costly. We heard from some of the customers that their kitchen cabinets cost close to $50,000. These customers are usually panic when they hear that their double ovens need to be replaced. Oh my god! What are we going to do if the control board is discontinued by a factory? What we do, we remove the main control board from your unit and send to our partner’s repair shop and then after they repair and verify that main board is working correctly, they ship this part back to us and we will come out and install it. The entire process usually takes about 10-14 business days (in some cases faster than that)

Story from our customer:

“I recently had the main control board go out in my Whirlpool Built in oven. Upon looking for the part online I quickly discovered that this model of oven discontinued, then I called Atlanta City Appliance Repair, Inc and found out that the main control board is discontinued as well. I was moments away from riding to Home Depot to shop for a new oven, the cheapest option that they could offer me was a similar model built in oven for $1450.00 plus it was a quite different color from all my other kitchen appliances. So, I called back to Atlanta City Appliance Repair, Inc and their technician came out and verified the issue with a main control board. They quoted me $675 for repairing the board and labor. I was skeptical I must say at first but upon my research online I changed my mind. it seems like many people have done that before.  In about 10 business days, I received a phone call from their office and their technicians came in and installed a rebuilt board and since then it was working fine. I’m so grateful for Atlanta City Appliance Repair, Inc for saving my money and avoiding a headache of ordering a new oven. You could not hope for a more professional and awesome company to deal with.”

Symptoms for bad/faulty oven control board

Double oven repair and serviceCheck for the following to help diagnose the issue:

-The bake and broil heating elements don’t work but test positive for continuity, proving there is a continuous electrical path.

-The power source is delivering 240 volts of alternating current.

-The bake and broil heating element connection wires show no signs of burn marks or damage.

-Testing for continuity, the thermal fuse shows a continuous electrical path is present.

-Check schematic and confirm ohms for the thermostat and heat sensor and test both for the correct amount.

If the power supply, heating elements, thermostat, fuse and heat sensor are operating correctly, it’s a good possibility that the main control board is malfunctioning and will need to be replaced. Since the thermal fuse is functioning properly, this symptom should convey that the control board is getting power but is incapable of operating the oven
