Oven glass cleaning/service

Your oven is a vital appliance in your home, crucial for preparing dinner. Even though many ovens come with self-cleaning features, a common question we hear from our customers is how to tackle the stubborn, brown splatter on the inner glass door.

We’ve got a few effective methods to share!

Ready to get started on oven glass cleaning procedure?

Here’s a method recommended by many homeowners for light cleaning on oven glass:

  1. 🧽 Scrape Off Loose Debris on Oven Glass: Use a scraper or an old credit card to gently remove any stuck-on food.
  2. πŸ‹ Make a Natural Cleaner: Mix Β½ cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of lemon juice to create a paste.
  3. πŸ•’ Apply on Oven Glass and Wait: Spread the paste over the oven glass and let it sit for about 20 minutes to break down and soften the debris.
  4. 🧼 Scrub Gently: Use a soft cloth or sponge to gently scrub the glass in circular motions. A non-abrasive scrubbing pad can help with tougher spots.
  5. 🌿 Vinegar Solution: Mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray the glass and wipe it clean with a soft cloth. Repeat until the glass sparkles.
  6. πŸ’§ Final Rinse: Do a final rinse with water and use a microfiber cloth for a streak-free finish.

For really grimy oven glass, one of our customers recommends the following method:

  1. πŸ”ͺ Get the Right Tools: Purchase a scraper and non-abrasive scrubbing pads(Non-metal and anti-bacterial!) made for cooktops.
  2. 🧴 Use Specialized Cleaner: Try Bar Keepers Friend Cooktop Cleaner. They also make a Burnt-On Grease Remover.
  3. πŸ•‘ Apply and Wait: Spread the cleaner over a small section of the glass and let it penetrate for about 5-10 minutes.
  4. πŸ”§ Scrape Carefully: Using your scraper or blade, gently scrape at a 45-degree angle. Wipe away the residue and move to the next section.
  5. 🧽 Clean Residue: After removing the major debris, spread a thin film of the cleaner across the glass. Use a damp sponge in circular motions to remove any remaining residue.
  6. 🧴 Final Touch: Apply one more thin layer of the cleaner. Let it dry for a couple of minutes, then use a microfiber cloth or soft lint-free towel to remove it completely.
